The view from the kitchen window

The Old Dairy is a large family home dating back to the 1870’s. Now an artist’s house and occasional gallery, the upper floor provides a separate annex offering three double guest bedrooms, a newly fitted guest kitchen with eating area, and a bathroom with bath & shower.

Our house is a clean, comfortable, quiet and safe environment for visitors who are looking for self catering accommodation within a friendly and relaxed family house.

Room 1

A large, light and airy room (5.21 X 3.38m) at the font of the house with two windows overlooking Denmark Street. Furnished with a comfortable double bed, large antique chest of drawers, clothes hanging space, bookcase and large desk with lamp.

Room 2

A spacious room (3.94 X 3.35m) with a large window overlooking Denmark Street and the gardens beyond providing lots of light. Includes comfortable double bed, wash basin, mirror, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk and lamp.

A small double room (3.35 x 2.74m) with large window, comfortable double bed, wash basin, wardrobe, chest of drawers, large desk and lamp. This room is South facing making it particular light and sunny.

Kitchen and eating area

The recently fitted kitchen is in a large South facing room with eating area and views over the garden and neighboring roof tops. The kitchen fitments include a hob, combined mirco-wave and conventional oven and grill, fridge and freezer. All kitchen equipment is provided along with an ironing board, iron and a small library of books, maps and travel guides!

Environmental issues

We do our best to be an environmentally aware household providing facilities for recycling and composting, using energy saving bulbs and eco friendly cleaning products. There are secure rings at the front of the house for parking bicycles and we welcome your input in reducing our households carbon footprint.

Household management

All communal areas are cleaned once a week and cleaning products and equipment is provided for your use. Cleaning of bedrooms is not included in the rent although we can arrange this for an extra cost if required. We provide bedding and towels which we also launder. There is no washing machine in the house but the local 'Speed Queen' laundrette is a 5 minute walk away and provides an excellent washing and ironing service.

Denmark street is in the heart of East Oxford and it is one of the few roads in Oxford that retains a traditional mix of businesses and residential accommodation.

The Cowley Road is less than 5 mins walk away where you’ll find dozens of restaurants, bars & independant shops as well as Tesco, and the Laundrette.

The Iffley Road is 2 minutes walk away and gives you access to the river, the University Sports Ground & Swimming Pool (which non-students are welcome to join).

The City Centre is 10 mins walk away.

Transport

There are regular buses into the town centre and the railway station from the Iffley Rd and the Cowley Rd.

The bus stop for the London Tube (which runs every 20 mins all day and night) is a 10 minute walk away.

You can catch direct buses to Heathrow and Gatwick airports from the same stop.
